Conz Schedler, M.D.
Dr. Jeffrey Karaban is a board-certified dermatologist who has been in private practice since 1983. He was born and raised in New York City and graduated with honors from New York University. He subsequently attended New York University Medical School in Manhattan, NY, graduating in 1979. Dr. Karaban completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Bellevue Hospital in NY and Dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, graduating in 1983. He became board certified that same year and is currently Section Chief of Dermatology at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Karaban is a member and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology Society. He has served as Vice President of Chicago Dermatology Society and is currently Vice Chair of Dermatology Foundation. Dr. Karaban is well trained in all aspects of dermatology, and is completely knowledgeable of the latest dermatologic treatments.
Dr. Karaban and his associates believe in interactive doctor-patient communication. He believes his patients should be fully informed and feel comfortable to inquire about anything pertaining to their condition and/or procedures performed.
Sangini Patel, MS, PA-C
Sangini is a board certified Physician Assistant, practicing cosmetic and general dermatology since 2004, and has been with Dr. Karaban since January 2007. She completed her training from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA where she graduated with honors receiving a Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. After completing concentrated rotations in dermatology, she practiced aesthetic and general dermatology in Orange County, California, trained by board certified dermatologist and plastic surgeon. Sangini specializes in aesthetic dermatology, Botox©, Dermal Fillers (Restylane©, Juvederm©, Collagen, Radiesse©), Various Laser treatments (hair removal, skin tightening, photorejuvenation, texture/pore reduction, facial and leg veins), and chemical peels/skin care products. She also practices general dermatology, seeing common dermatologic conditions, such as acne, moles, skin growths, warts, rashes/eczema, and hairloss. Sangini maintains her certifications by regularly attending medical education courses and training, therefore remains current on the latest dermatology advances and technologies. She is currently a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) and American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Sangini is excited to be with Bern Dermatology, and to bring her experience and knowledge of aesthetic/cosmetic dermatology to the practice.
